We are thrilled to announce that Carbon Savvy has won twin awards for “Best Environmental Services Business of the Year 2026 – United Kingdom” at the prestigious global awards presented by two associated publications, The Strategist and M&A Today.

Richard Baker, Editor-in-Chief of the publications, described the awards: “The Strategist Awards represent the pinnacle of strategic achievement, recognising visionary leaders who drive transformative change across industries. M&A Today takes immense pride in recognising the exceptional firms and individuals from over 163 countries, highlighting those who have revolutionised their sector through their innovative and strategic achievements.” For Carbon Savvy, these awards represent a powerful recognition of our mission to make low-carbon living desirable, achievable, and joyful.

Carbon Savvy was launched in 2020 with the aim of providing world-class personal carbon footprint calculators to help individuals, councils and businesses reduce their CO2 emissions. Thousands of web visitors measure their carbon footprint every year on our site. We also run the Carbon Ambassadors Online Course, featuring renowned experts Mike Berners Lee, author of How Bad are Bananas, Satish Kumar, founder of Schumacher College, and Jane Davidson, former Welsh Assembly Environment Minister. Carbon Savvy has an unusual, positive, no-guilt approach, drawing attention to how reducing your carbon footprint can improve your health, wellbeing and quality of life.

Carbon Savvy’s founder, Mukti Mitchell, created one of the world’s first carbon footprint calculators in 2002, published by Resurgence Magazine, which came first in an international survey that year. He went on to sail around the UK in 2007 in a hand-built yacht with no engine to promote eco-living, endorsed by the Prince of Wales and Prime Minister, which reached an audience of 10 million through regional media. In 2010, Mukti founded Mitchell & Dickinson, a period home insulation company, which has since insulated over 2,000 homes and saved 100,000 tonnes of CO2. The recent awards add to a list received by Mukti for his work on climate stability, including Devon Environmental Champion, Southwest Energy Efficiency Champion, and UK Greenest Family of the Year.

The Best Environmental Services 2026 awards come while Mukti is on sabbatical in India. His journey to India included cycling overland to Turkey and continuing by train through 20 countries, including Kazakhstan and China. The trip, which emitted just 283kg CO2 compared to 4,500kg for one seat on a return flight, will feature in a book he is currently writing.

Mukti said: “It is fantastic to receive these prestigious awards for Carbon Savvy in recognition of our work to achieve climate stability. My recent overland journey to India showed me that the world is full of friendly people who care about each other and the planet. We all need to work together by measuring, reducing and offsetting our emissions over the next five years. My own carbon footprint is a quarter of the UK average, so I speak from experience when I say that saving CO2 increases your quality of life! The awards from The Strategist and M&A Today will help spread the word and take us towards the healthy future that everybody wants.”

As we celebrate this recognition from The Strategist and M&A Today, we reflect on our vision for the next five years to help everyone measure, reduce, and offset their emissions to achieve true climate stability. Whether you are a local council, a business, or an individual looking to make a change, we are here to guide you toward that healthy, high-quality future we all want.
