Carbon Savvy Wins Four Awards

Carbon footprint advisory service Carbon Savvy wins its fourth award of the year, and looks back at their history and team.
Following two recent awards from The Strategist and M&A Today, Carbon Savvy received new awards from Global 100 and SME 500 for “Best Environmental Business Service UK 2026.”
Global 100 editor-in-chief, Richard Baker, said: “Congratulations to all Global 100 2026 award winners for setting the standard for excellence. Global 100 recognises organisations and individuals operating at the highest level of global business and is the benchmark for independent merit-based recognition worldwide. Being named in the Global 100 is more than an accolade – it is a signal of credibility and global standing.”
Carbon Savvy and its preceding brands have been running online carbon footprint calculators for close to 25 years. They assist councils, businesses and individuals with advice on how to save CO2, with a positive approach that says ‘this improves your quality of life.’
Carbon Savvy Director, Mukti Mitchell, responded to the awards, saying, “We are thrilled to receive two more awards this year, making a total of four so far in 2026. I would like to thank the whole team who have made our carbon footprint calculators and advice into a high-quality service worthy of these awards. We started doing this when no one had heard of carbon footprints, and next year we will be celebrating 25 years of carbon calculations. I hope these awards encourage more people to measure their footprint (which only takes five minutes) and take the steps we need to create a healthy future for our children. My experience over the last 25 years is that there is an instant reward because most activities that reduce your carbon footprint increase your health and wellbeing.”
The new awards add to a list of nine awards won by Carbon Savvy and director Mukti Mitchell, including COINNET best international carbon calculator, UK Greenest Family, Devon Environmental Champion and Southwest Energy Efficiency Champion.
The lineage of carbon calculators and footprint advice has had different names over the last 25 years, including Resurgence Carbon Calculator, Low Carbon Lifestyle, and Smart Living, with the brand Carbon Savvy being launched in 2020. Carbon Savvy has created more advanced carbon calculators that enable you to track your footprint over time and give you a choice of three calculators that take one minute, five minutes or forty-five minutes.
Thanking his team, Mukti Mitchell added, “I am grateful to all the people who have made Carbon Savvy into what it is today. These include Co-Director Rachael Hunter, Communications Administrator Manon Martini, carbon calculations engineer Alex Alliston and graphic designer Dean Sampson, as well as Maya Mitchell, who was the administrator for six years. Big thanks also go to Cre8ion and Andrius Bartulis, who developed the calculator software, and his new company, Formwork Limited, who maintain it. Developing and promoting carbon calculators requires careful thought and diligent work, and it is thanks to the team that Carbon Savvy has achieved such high quality.”
Carbon Savvy also offers B2B services, including white-label carbon footprint calculators that an organisation can put on their own website, carbon audits and net-zero planning for businesses, and online courses to educate staff on how to save carbon for your company. They are developing a range of sponsorship opportunities for 2027.
Mukti Mitchell recently travelled to India by bicycle and train, taking a year, in order to avoid the carbon emissions of flying, which are 20 times higher than international trains. In India, he assisted with the launch of a soil regeneration programme called Regenerate Punjab. “The world’s agricultural land is severely depleted,” Mukti said. “Healthy land has 5% organic matter, which is the living part of the soil, but industrial farm land is often down to 1% and in Punjab State, India, 0.5%. We need to restore our farmland to secure a reliable supply of nutritious food for the future. Everyone can help by supporting organisations that regenerate soil and by buying local, seasonal, organic food from small farms.”
Mukti will begin his return journey from India to the UK on 25 July. Travelling through Nepal, China and Kazakhstan, he expects to take 2-3 months. Follow his journey by signing up to the Carbon Savvy newsletter or following us on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.
