Do Good Lives Have to Cost the Earth?
September 28, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
| FreeJoin the Network of Wellbeing (NOW), Eden Project Communities and a range of inspiring changemakers in the launch of an online series of events exploring the topic ‘Does a Good Life Have to Cost the Earth?’
What makes a ‘good life’? Scientific research on human happiness has revealed that material possessions fail to bring us lasting contentment once our basic needs have been met. Meanwhile excessively wasteful consumerist lifestyles are putting unsustainable pressure on the planet. So, how can we learn to live well within the planet’s natural limits? Can we gain a deeper sense of meaning, purpose and genuine wellbeing from living with more connection to nature and each other?
Join us and an excellent panel of inspiring changemakers to explore these questions together. Including:
– Mukti Mitchell, Carbon Savvy
– Teresa Belton – author of Happier People, Healthier Planet
– Andrew Simms, author, editor of Do Good Lives Have to Cost the Earth and Rapid Transition Alliance
– Emma Tolley, The Eden Project
This is the launch event for a series of three events will take place on Tuesday evenings from 7.30-9pm on 28th September, 12th October and 26th October. You can choose to attend this event as a stand alone, or come to other events in the series.
