Most of our rural communities have serious problems with poor public transport networks. Bigbury has a regular bus trip – once a week! Useless.
South Hams District Council have large car parks in Bigbury on Sea for beach visitors which can host an estimated 600 cars and there is a farmers field nearby which could host about the same number of cars. With an average income per car park space of £8 a day thats – nearly £10,000 a day in peak season. But no EV charge points. SHDC are putting a few points in other car parks but not at Bigbury.
Bigbury Net Zero are investigating commercial companies who may do it if we can identify a site.
Does anyone have any advice or introductions to share with us? Are there opportunities for negotiations or a share in the profits?
We are also interested in systems like Co Cars – car pool sharing. Anyone with experience, warnings etc?
