The public carbon literacy program

CARBON SAVVY IS A NEW PROGRAM TO RAPIDLY IMPROVE PUBLIC CARBON LITERACY IN THE FACE OF THE CLIMATE EMERGENCY.

It provides a practical and effective bridge between the general public concerned about the climate emergency and civic action. It provides simple, understandable and clear carbon information which is the first step to carbon reduction, in a positive and hopeful way.

Helping councils respond to the climate emergency

OUR DEDICATED COUNCIL PACKAGE SUPPORTS LOCAL AUTHORITIES IN THEIR ENDEAVOURS TO RAISE RESIDENTS’ CARBON LITERACY AND REDUCE CARBON FOOTPRINTS

Many Councils are prioritising carbon footprint reduction, but have limited capacity to provide structured, well-designed advice to their residents in a cost-effective way. Our dedicated package fills this gap as a turnkey solution for Local Authorities to start educating their residents, without significant resource investment delays. The solution is quick to deploy and fits well with Climate Emergency Response plans.

The Carbon Savvy Council Package

THE PACKAGE CREATED SPECIFICALLY TO SUPPORT LOCAL AUTHORITIES WITH THEIR CLIMATE RESPONSE AND TO ACCELERATE PUBLIC CARBON LITERACY AND BEHAVIOUR CHANGE.

  • The Handy Guide, providing insights into people’s carbon footprint and changes they can make.  The guide includes two pages for Local Authorities to add their own content.

  • The Carbon Savvy website has carbon calculators, enabling residents to work out their carbon footprint.  This will include a new feature to track reductions over time.

  • ‘Walk the Talk’ walks and webinars in the local area by low carbon lifestyle expert Mukti Mitchell, to spread the word and generate local PR and public awareness.

  • A localised social media & PR campaign to increase awareness.

  • Contact us for full details of our councils’ programme.

The Carbon Savvy Handy Guide

A CRITICAL COMPONENT OF THIS PROGRAM IS OUR ‘HANDY GUIDE’ TO SAVING CO2, WHICH CAN BE READ COVER-TO-COVER IN UNDER AN HOUR.

It contains a simple, comprehensive explanation of the significant components of personal carbon footprints and the things you can focus on first to have the fastest and most substantial reduction.

The Guide is has customisable front and back covers for co-branding with your Local Authority, and has space for a personalised introduction from a Council representative. The guidebook is slim enough to fit through letterboxes and is printed on 100% recycled paper.
